The DOA Estimation for a Mixture of Uncorrelated and Coherent Sources via Decomposing the Coprime Array

The spatial smoothing-based and matrix reconstruction-based decorrelation algorithms are widely used to realize the accurate direction-of-arrival (DOA) estimation with coexistence of both uncorrelated coherent sources. However, these methods apply only traditional uniform linear array (ULA), which manifold is a Vandermonde structure. In this paper, achieve DOA mixed signals on coprime array, decomposed into two independent sub-ULAs, received data processed, respectively. An improved differencing technique exploited estimate sources separately, lost degree freedom (DOF) caused by decomposition recovered. final high-precision obtained conducting an ambiguity resolution method results subarrays. Furthermore, double-phase partial spectral search scheme introduced diminish computational complexity. feasibility superiority proposed algorithm validated through detailed experimental simulations.
